In the comics Black Widow was kind of a minor player no matter how tough she was seen to be, but in the movies so far she’s seen to possess a few powers that we didn’t really expect to see. Her role in the comics however has been greatly ramped up through the years since she had to have some way to contend with the heavy hitters and still manage to stay respectable since she became a member of one of the toughest teams in history, the Avengers.
She’s not the strongest among them by far but she does have a few tricks up her sleeves that help her to compete.
10. Delayed aging
She was given the same super soldier serum as Captain America, so her aging is delayed since her cells are growing faster than they can deteriorate. It’s believed that she’s just about as old as Cap. Many people have assumed that Natasha is about as young as she looks, but she’s far older than several of the Avengers.
9. She can climb walls.
Thanks to her rigorous training and physical conditioning she can climb walls almost as fast as Spider-Man, but her ability comes more from her gadgets unlike Peter Parker. A few of her ‘powers’ come from her gadgets but since she tends to have them on most of the time they definitely count.
8. Super speed
She’s not going to be getting into any races with Quicksilver anytime soon, but she’s been known to be much faster than the average person and can reach speeds up to 35 mph. Obviously she can’t sustain this for a long time but it’s still impressive enough to think that she can hit that number.
7. Super healing
She doesn’t heal as fast as Wolverine and she can’t regrow her limbs like Deadpool, but Black Widow can at least recover from injuries in a matter of hours instead of days. In her line of work it definitely helps since she can’t afford to be laid low for long periods of time.
6. Using old identities
Throughout her training Natasha had to become more than one person in order to perform her duties for her handlers. Like those that she trained with she had to actually become those people and believe that the identity was her own. Unlike others however she can switch back and forth in order to utilize them to their full extent.
5. Durability
This is another ability that comes in handy in the line of work she’s in since being able to take a good amount of punishment is very handy when you tend to get into fights with people bigger and stronger than you. Natasha can fall from great heights and take on a great amount of punishment before being incapacitated.
4. Computer hacking
Considering that she was operating long before the internet became a big thing this skill is more about adaptability in order to get the job done, which she is still very, very good at. She’s capable of hacking into a system without much trouble and getting out before anyone knows she’s there.
3. Mental resilience
This can be useful in many ways as it can allow her to keep going when things get rough, to avoid interrogation methods, and can keep her sane in most cases when a level head is needed. Being mentally resilient is more about being able to think clearly when the world makes no sense.
2. Widow’s Kiss
This is a special gas that’s kept in a small canister on the bracelet she wears, but it hasn’t seen a lot of use in the comics lately, and none in the MCU. It was pretty potent however since she could unleash it without much effort.
1. Super reflexes
This has been seen in the movies as well as the comics sense her reflexes are so sharp that she can dodge bullets and use her body to move others out of the way of incoming fire as well.
Black Widow is a lot more than a pretty face and some fancy moves.
