Get ready for a festive treat as Wallace and Gromit make their long-awaited return this Christmas! The beloved duo will face off against their arch-enemy, Feathers McGraw, in a new 70-minute feature film titled Vengeance Most Fowl, as confirmed by the BBC.
This marks the first outing for the pair since 2008’s A Matter of Loaf and Death. Directed by Nick Park and Wallace & Gromit creative director Merlin Crossingham, the film brings back one of the series’ most iconic villains. Park shared, The single most asked question I get when I meet fans is, will the penguin Feathers McGraw, Wallace and Gromit’s original antagonist from The Wrong Trousers 30 years ago, ever return?
Feathers McGraw, described by Nick Park as a criminal mastermind penguin who uses a red rubber glove to disguise himself as a chicken, was last seen in the 1993 Oscar-winning film The Wrong Trousers. In this new adventure, Wallace invents a ‘smart gnome’ that develops a mind of its own, adding another layer of complexity to Gromit’s already burdened life.
Along with the return of familiar faces, the new feature introduces an exciting ensemble cast. Comedian Peter Kay reprises his role as PC Mackintosh from The Curse Of The Were-Rabbit, now promoted to chief inspector. Reece Shearsmith from Inside No 9 joins the cast along with Lauren Patel from Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.
The movie will also feature cameos from notable names like Diane Morgan from Motherland, Adjoa Andoh from Bridgerton, and actor Sir Lenny Henry. Providing the voice for Wallace is Ben Whitehead, who took over after the death of Peter Sallis.The short video shows the villain’s possessions comprising a fish keychain with keys, a comb, a tape measure… and a totally inconspicuous red rubber glove…
Feathers McGraw has been confirmed to return in the new Wallace & Gromit movie.
