American Pickers has allowed us to look into collectibles in possession of senior citizens. Majority of the collections that have caught our attention are over several decades old. Moreover, the fact that there are only a few of those items remaining in a restorable conditions makes them truly precious. The collections include items such as work tools, machines, business signs, attire, and other private artifacts. Pole and Bracket
You would expect someone to buy a pole and a bracket. However, that’s what happened in this video when American pickers chose to buy an old pole at $225 along with its bracket. They did valuation of the pole and the bracket and found out that it’s actually about $400. In most cases, you will find that you get an old pole but without the original bracket, or you get the original bracket, but don’t get the pole. However, when you find the two together, all looking rusty and old, and you put a sign on them, the sign will look like it has always been there!
Wooden Model T
How many times do you get to see a wooden car model that’s on the same scale with an actual car. Furthermore, the car is capable of running, and it competed in racing shows comprising of cars worth thousands of dollars, back in the 1980s. One of those championships was the Winston Championship Auto Shows, in which it finished second. The skill and imagination that it took to make such a car definitely shows a lot of talent and genius. The crew said they were going to make some call s and see if the car can get into a museum, where it belongs.
Levi’s Jeans
One of the famous clothing brands is the Levi’s jeans that were produced in its early factory, which later got destroyed in an earthquake. The original jeans that Levi’s produced during that period and survived to this day, whether they are new or worn-out, are still valuable. One of the important thing to look for is the original Levi’s patch or the absence of it, which is common with jeans produced during the second world war. The war efforts mean that the patch was screen printed instead of being sewn onto the jeans. In this video, the American Pickers crew inspected a collection of those early jeans.
Memory Jug and Tether Car
A miniature racing car that was tethered using a cable, and would go as fast as 214 mph. They were very popular in the 1930s to early 1960s, and definitely a worthy collection. Another collectible is the memory jug made of items stuck in the clay. Each one being unique to the individual or family that made the memory jug. Overall, these are items that you can’t walk into the shop and come out with one. At $1,100, the American Pickers had a successful “treasure hunt.”
These Motorcycles
It’s not every day that you stumble on three or four Aces motorcycles that you know are truly rare. In this video, the American Pickers crew stumbled on these motorcycles with unique engines that they aren’t sure about the availability of their spare parts! They did buy them at $85,000, and it was worth it.
