It’s Time for a Fatal Attraction Reboot Starring Margot Robbie

There’s no doubt that Margot Robbie knows how to play a good crazy role. Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad was likely one of the best roles she’s had to date largely because she was able to just let it go and be a complete nut. For that reason alone she could no doubt star as Alex in a reboot of Fatal Attraction and nail it. But who would play Dan? The costars could come from a wide range and aren’t as big of a deal, but the overall plot should be left alone. The person to write out the script however, in my opinion, should be none other than the master, Stephen King. His credentials are more than good enough to provide the kind of nutso crazy that Margot would need to make this film work in her favor.

Here’s how I see it going down.

Writer-Stephen King

The guy knows how to produce tension, thrills, and the kind of insane action and plot twists that drive people nuts and leave them wanting more. He could write this script in record time likely and create magic that would revive the movie experience and make it into something new and dynamic.

Director-Kathryn Bigelow

I think it would be great to get a woman’s perspective on this film this time around. It would pay to know just what kind of mindset Alex is supposed to have and show Dan in a more neutral to antagonistic light. Keep in mind he was seen as the good guy by a lot of people while Alex was seen as the knife-wielding crazy woman that was obsessed over Dan.

Plot

This needs to be kept the same so as to preserve the movie. Definitely bring it up to date and adjust things as needed in order to keep people interested and keep the film flowing in the right direction. But the affair, the breakup, and then the subsequent mayhem should all be kept very much the same so as to not alienate viewers and keep the integrity of the movie.

Alex Forrest-Margot Robbie

Thanks to her roles in Suicide Squad and The Wolf of Wall Street she’s shown that she can do vindictive, angry, and absolutely crazy. She has all the makings of a hard-working woman that’s so overburdened with her life and everything going on that she’s grateful for even a little bit of attention. But once she’s spurned or angered in any way she can turn around and let all of that emotional baggage loose on the person that’s hurt her the most. I think this role would be perfect for her.

Dan Gallagher-Leonardo DiCaprio

The two of them have had such good chemistry onscreen that it stands to reason that they would do great here as well. But the trick would be to show that Dan is not so much the good guy as he is the guy that messed up and now has to pay for it. Adultery is no joke after all and needs to convey that he’s at fault for this, not just Alex.

The costars could be just about anyone that fits the bill, but Margo and Leo would make the perfect pair for a reboot of this film.
