General Hospital actor Johnny Wactor, known for his role as Brando Corbin, has tragically passed away. Wactor was shot and killed in downtown Los Angeles early on Saturday. 
His mother, Scarlett Wactor, told Los Angeles ABC station KABC Wactor was shot after he interrupted three male suspects who were allegedly attempting to remove a catalytic converter from his vehicle.
The incident unfolded around 3 a.m. when Wactor and a coworker noticed individuals tampering with his car. According to Scarlett Wactor, her son didn’t attempt to stop the thieves but was fatally shot regardless.
Outpouring of Grief and Tributes
Wactor, who was just 37 years old, made a significant impact in the entertainment world with his roles in General Hospital, Siberia, Criminal Minds, and Westworld. His portrayal of Brando Corbin from 2020 to 2022 earned him a devoted fan base.
The entire General Hospital family expressed their sorrow with a statement saying, The entire General Hospital family is heartbroken to hear of Johnny Wactor’s untimely passing.
A Heroic Final Act
Witnesses recounted the heartbreaking final moments where Wactor acted protectively over his coworker. Scarlett Wactor shared, Johnny stepped in front of the coworker [and was] shot.
A Lasting Legacy
Born on November 7, 1986, Johnny started his acting journey in 2007 with appearances on the hit Lifetime show Army Wives. He went on to perform in notable TV series such as The OA, NCIS, Station 19, and many more.

The Investigation Continues
The Los Angeles Police Department is still investigating the case while searching for the suspects involved in this senseless tragedy. Police reports indicate that three men approached Wactor and hastily drove away after the shooting.
