Five Actors Who Should Play Avicii in a Biopic

Avicii rose to fame as one of the best DJs in the entire world. He was born Tim Bergling but went by Avicii as his professional name. He was also a producer who was loved by millions of fans. Avicii struggled with many questions and concerns throughout his short life. He passed away at the young age of just 28, at the pinnacle of his career. Perhaps fame and notoriety were not the things that he was truly looking for in life. Instead, following his passion for music would likely have made him more at peace. His family supported a recent documentary that outlined his life, career and personal struggles, along with educational information for the prevention of suicide. The documentary is a moving tribute, but a biopic about his life could be an even more moving experience for fans and other viewers of the late DJ if it were well written and featured the right actor to portray Tim. Here are the five actors that we believe should play the role of Avicii in a biopic.

1. Alexander Ludwig

Alexander is best known for his most recent role in the History Channel series “Vikings.” He portrays Bjorn Lothbrok, son of Ragnar. We’ve watched this character grow from a small boy to a mature man who is a Viking warrior following in the footsteps of his famous father and fearless mother. Ludwig has the acting ability to bring a character to life on the screen so the audience can gain a sense of what’s going on in his mind. We believe that he would portray Avicii in a way that delivers what is known about his habits, his joys, and his struggles as well. Ludwig is a native Canadian who is also a singer and a model in addition to being an actor. He was born in 1984 and is around the right age to play the role convincingly.

2. Bill Skarsgard

Bill Skarsgard is the son of Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgard. Bill was also born in Sweden and shares the same national origin as Avicii. Bill comes from a family of actors and it seems to be a talent that is flowing through their veins, with not only his father in the profession but also brothers Gustav, Valter and Alexander Skarsgard. Bill is known for his film roles in “Allegiant” in 2016, “It” in 2017 and in “Deadpool 2” in 2018. He’s also a producer. Bill was born in 1990 and is 29 years old, which is close to the age of Tim when he passed away. He bears a slight resemblance physically, but we believe that he could skillfully bring the personality and life story of Avicii to life on the screen if he were given the opportunity. We’d like to see him given the chance to do so. It was hard for us to choose between Bill and his brother Valter, but in the end, we went with the elder Skarsgard because he seems to have a closer likeness to Avicii.

3. Alex Hogh Andersen

You may remember Alex Hogh Andersen as the physically challenged son of Ragnar Lothbrok on the History Channel series “Vikings.” We were impressed with Alex’ rendition of the character Ivar the Boneless. He has the capacity to show raw emotion that the character is feeling and he brings them to life in a meaningful way. There is no doubt that the actor possesses a wealth of skill and talent. He is fluent in Danish, German, Norwegian, English and Swedish languages, and he is a formally trained actor. Andersen spent six years attending Eventyteatret Drama School in Denmark as well as study in the Copenhagen University’s Film & Media Science program. He was awarded the TV Rising Star of the Year Award in 2013. He portrayed Dionysos in a theatrical version of “Hercules” when he was just a teen. He’s young and talented and Alex is an actor that we believe could do justice to the role of Avicii.

4. Marco Ilso

Marco Ilso is a Danish actor who was born in late September of 1994. He is 25 years of age. We believe that he would also be an excellent choice to play the role of Tim Bergling He is best known for his role in the film “The Absent One” in 2014, as a young Ditlev. Prior to that played Niclas in the 2011 film “Rebounce.” He went on to secure a role in the fourth season of “Vikings” in the role of Hvitserk. He began his acting career when he was just 14 years old and currently has a decade of acting experience. We believe that he would also do a great job of playing the part of Avicii in a biopic. He’s skilled and about the right age, and we’d love to see Marco Ilso give it his best shot.

5.Martin Wallstrom

Martin was born in 1983 and is a native of Sweden. He’s a celebrated actor who appeared in “Johan Falk: GSI-Gruppen for sarskilda insatser in 2009, in “Arn” in 2010 and in “Mr. Robot” in 2015. Although Martin is 33, and a few years older than Avicii, he has a youthful appearance and we think that he could easily pull off the role of Avicii and do so in a manner that would make it believable. He’s skilled in the art of acting and there’s something about him, perhaps the expressiveness of his eyes that seem to reach out to viewers and bring them in for the duration of the film. We’d definitely like to see him play the role of Avicii as he’s shown that he’s a capable and competent actor who can bring his characters to full development for the sake of viewers.
