Anyone saying that ‘age is just a number’ or anything similar to this isn’t lying and yet they’re still operating from a very limited scope as well since age does have something to do with quite a few things in life since with age comes experience and with experience comes wisdom, hopefully. At this time however Zendaya, who has been named Woman of the Year for GQ Australia, has been gifted a great honor as Morgan Hines of USA Today alludes to, and the fact that she’s only 23 years of age is impressive to many. It’s difficult to get down on anyone that’s done as much as Zendaya has done in just a little over two decades in this world, but it’s also smart to temper this joyous occasion with the idea that while she has in fact done many great things at this juncture in her life, and there is a lot of potential for her to go further, there are still a few challenges in life that she might have to face moving forward. What those challenges might be has yet to be determined, but given her track record thus far it does seem as though she won’t have much of an issue in meeting them head-on.
This honor is something that a lot of people don’t simply get handed in their lives, and it’s a bit obvious that Zendaya is touched by it as she’s stated:
“Woman of the Year, that’s kind of crazy considering that I’m just 23 years old and trying to figure out how to become a woman myself,”
That statement says a lot since as an adult Zendaya has become an impressive individual that has enjoyed a fairly successful career at this time starting as a child actor and moving up to the level she’s at now. Her casting in the Spider-Man movies was a surprise for many people but thus far it’s worked out quite nicely as a change and something that people have gotten used to considering that as a new MJ she’s managed to become a character that is unlike what anyone was expecting. From the beginning of her career to now there have likely been many people believing that she would go ascend to heights that weren’t even dreamed of yet, though how far anyone thought she would go just a few years ago is hard to say. With an honor like this being bestowed upon her once can only think that the expectations that she’s feeling as of now have increased quite a bit. Whether this will put any added stress on her has yet to be seen, though one can only think that such a label will become something that might gain her a bit more attention for a while, at least until the next Woman of the Year is selected, during which time she’ll be mentioned again.
One of the best parts about Zendaya is that she’s relatively controversy-free and anything that people have to say about her is usually easy to ignore. At this time it does seem as though she’s one of those that has managed to steer clear of the noise and trouble that pervades Hollywood and wraps up so many people at one point or another. While no one is ever truly squeaky clean there are those in Hollywood that manage to skip all the bs and actually take on the appearance and attitude of a person that is genuine and likes to help others and be a decent human being. Thus far Zendaya does seem to have made this a priority and in doing so has become someone that people look to when they need to see someone that’s being not only herself but someone that they can look up to and be inspired by. Unfortunately show business is filled with quite a few people that some might think are genuine, good, and quite friendly, but the facade that is thrown up on a continual basis is something that’s hard to accept or deny at any given time since people tend to act different ways when the cameras are on and will revert back to form when no one is watching, or when they think no one is. In this case however Zendaya seems to be the same person on camera or off.
Thankfully for fans her schedule does show that she’s staying busy and that she will continue to be an inspiration for many as her career is doing just fine at the moment and is set to take her to even greater heights depending on the reaction of the audience to her coming projects. Given how popular and how well-received she’s already been in those movies that have released recently there’s nothing to say that she won’t be just as appreciated in the future.
