Adam Levine is finally taking his seat back on the red turn chair. On Wednesday, June 4, NBC announced the coaches lineup for season 27 of The Voice, and it includes returning coaches Levine, John Legend, Michael Bublé, and newcomer Kelsea Ballerini.
Levine, 45, is returning for the first time since his departure on season 16. The Maroon 5 frontman served as a coach on the show from its premiere, alongside Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera, and CeeLo Green.
I feel bad for other teams,
Levine said in a recent video, highlighting his and Blake Shelton’s presence on The Voice. Levine was known for his energetic presence and insightful feedback during his time as a coach.
John Legend, who was seen on the season 25 premiere of The Voice, just addressed his decision to take a break from the series. In a conversation with Entertainment Tonight, he explained that he would not be returning for the show’s 26th season due to prior commitments. But the break will be short-lived, as the ‘Ordinary People’ singer will be making a return.
Bublé and Snoop are also returning for a second season in a row. Bublé previously appeared as a guest advisor to Team Blake during season three. He mentioned having had a wonderful experience being part of the show: Having the opportunity to be a guest advisor on The Voice has been a wonderful experience
. Meanwhile, Snoop’s appearance as a mega mentor in season 20 significantly impacted the contestants’ performances.
Kelsea Ballerini, who sat in for Kelly Clarkson during the Battle Rounds and served as her battle advisor in previous seasons, is now joining as a full-time coach.
Back to Levine’s long-time friend Blake Shelton – their friendship is legendary among fans of The Voice. During Shelton’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, Levine delivered a heartfelt speech packed with playful jabs but highlighted the memorable moments and their enduring friendship. About departing from The Voice, he sent Shelton a heartfelt message: I couldn’t hide my love for you if I tried. Seriously. I tried. Can’t do it. Our friendship is and always will be one for the books.
Of course, Levine’s return wouldn’t be complete without mentioning Maroon 5’s recent performance of their single ‘Middle Ground’ on The Voice stage last May.
NBC is yet to announce a premiere date for season 27 — but season 26 is set to air this fall. Fans are eagerly anticipating how these dynamic personalities will influence this iconic show’s next chapter.
