If you were a teen (or tween) in the early 2000s, you probably remember when Mario Barrett hit the scene with his hit single “Just a Friend 2002”. The song, inspired by Biz Markie’s 1989 hit, was an uptempo song that quickly became popular. Some people may have thought Mario would be a one-hit wonder, but he proved he had many other great songs where that one came from. He continued releasing successful projects through the late 2010s and became known to countless people worldwide. In 2022, Mario received renewed attention after competing against R&B singer Omarion in a Verzuz battle. Mario’s fans are looking forward to seeing what he does next, and he’s excited to show them. Keep reading for ten things you didn’t know about Mario Barrett.

2. He Likes to Stay Active

Singing may not be a sport, but it still requires a good amount of physical fitness. As a result, Mario is very serious about keeping himself in shape, and he loves hitting the gym and getting a good workout in.

3. He Enjoys Traveling

Mario’s success as a singer has opened the door to an entire world of opportunities.
