A villain on television is the person you most love to hate. A villain can be someone trying to take over the world or even someone who is a nightmare at the workplace. They are the ones that cause drama and make the story lines all the more appetizing. The more dangerous the villain, the more exciting the plot. Here is the list of the top 15 most evil characters TV has to offer:
15. Dwight Schrute, The Office
You may ask yourself why Dwight made the list. But would you want to sit next to him 8 hours day, 5 days a week? I didn’t think so. Dwight’s constant need to enforce rules and ruin the fun at Dunder Mifflin makes him the perfect villain. After all, he did sleep with Angela while she was engaged to Andy and tried to steal Micheal’s job.
14. T-Bag, Prison Break
T-bag was about everything bad you can imagine in a person. When he escaped prison with the rest of the “Fox River Eight” his dirty deeds did not stop there. He did many evil things for money and even tried to frame some of the men who helped him escape from jail. That’s like stabbing your best friend in the back!
13. George Bluth Sr., Arrested Development
If you can consider Sadaam Hussein a close friend, chances are you are a villain. The patriarch of the Bluth family not only built palaces for Hussein, but he also was jailed for fraud and mishandling the funds of his company. Once he was imprisoned, he faked his own death and let his family clean up his dirty work. I don’t think he will be winning any “Father of the Year” awards anytime soon.
12. Altlivia, Fringe
Could you imagine what it would be like to bump into your exact double from an alternate universe? Olivia Dunham knows what it is like and is lucky to be alive to tell the tale. In order to come to our world, Altlivia attached and locked up Olivia and assumed her life. She even got involved with Olivia’s crush and good friend Peter Bishop and would eventually give birth to his baby. What a nightmare.
11. Angelus, Buffy the Vampire Slayer
When he is Angel, he is just that. He is one of the good guys and spends his nights stopping evil. When he is Angelus, he is the scariest vampire you will ever encounter. If you are walking down the streets alone in Sunnydale, don’t be fooled by his good looks.
10. Vic MacKey, The Shield
I don’t think I have disliked a TV character more than I have Vic MacKey. He was a cop that would commit whatever crimes he wanted and show no remorse afterwards. He had a strong belief that the ends justify the means. No matter how you look at it, MacKey was down right evil. He stole, beat people up, and even murdered a cop who was trying to turn him in for all his wrongdoings. Talk about a police officer you wish you would never bump into!
9. Newman, Seinfeld
The reason Newman makes the list is for the mere fact that he was a nuisance. It was almost like he was sent to Earth to bother Jerry every chance he could get. He has been describes as “pure evil” and a “sworn enemy” to Jerry. Newman even resorted to bringing fleas to Jerry’s apartment. If your neighbor is anything like this guy, move out as fast as possible!
8. Lord Zedd and Rita Repulsa, Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers
Anyone who has a desire to take over the world is clearly a villain. Lord Zedd and Rita Repulsa were the first evil-doers to fight against the Power Rangers and wreak havoc on Angel Grove. You must really enjoy being bad if you send monsters as tall as buildings to destroy the human race. Lucky for us, the teenager with attitudes were around to thwart off any evil that was sent there way. Go, Go Power Rangers!
7. Christopher Pelant, Bones
Anyone who wants to see Booth and Brennan apart must be a villain. Not only did Pelant force the lovebirds to call off their engagement, he harmed countless innocent victims because he knew he could pull it off without getting caught. He also hacked into two government systems and cleaned out Hodgins’ bank account. Lucky for us, Booth took him out and eventually married Bones. Talk about a happy ending.
6. Sideshow Bob, The Simpsons
It is pretty sad if your one goal in life is to bring as much pain as you can to a 10-year-old. It is even more embarrassing if that boy is able to thwart every evil attempt you make at him. Sideshow Bob has wanted Bart Simpson dead for years, but never gets the chance to see his evil plans go through without a hitch. With every failed attempt, comes a stronger urge to kill. The last time we saw him he was run over by a train, but it takes a lot more than being squashed by a train to kill a cartoon villain.
5. Sue Sylvester, Glee
If Sue Sylvester was a real-life teacher she would have fired her very first day on the job. She treats students like the scum of the Earth and is not afraid to poke fun at their insecurities i.e. weight, intelligence, sexual orientation. She has even resorted to blackmailing the principal and planting pornography on his computer so she could take his position and rule McKinley High. She is the one who most needs a slushie to the face!
4. Stewie Griffin, Family Guy
It is pretty bad if you want your mother out of the way. It is even worse if you want it to happen while you are still in diapers. Stewie Griffin wants nothing more than to see the demise of his beloved mom Lois. Until that time comes he will have to settle for acts of arson, forgery, carjacking, and shooting the elderly. And you thought your toddler was trouble!
3. Tony Soprano, The Sopranos
Usually when someone thinks about the mob they immediately think villain. This is not any different when someone hears the name Tony Soprano. You were not even safe from harm if you were one of Tony’s relatives as he killed two of his own family members because he felt they were a liability. Not only was he a murderer, but he cheated on his wife numerous time and frequented many gentlemen’s clubs.
2. Amanda Woodward, Melrose Place
Amanda Woodward was the type of woman who would do whatever it took to get what she wanted. This consisted of several affairs and even more cat fights. When her boyfriend Billy dumped her and began dating Alison, she decided to get even and became their landlord. Her dirty deeds continued on the 2009 reboot when she was arrested in an art scheme that was linked to Sydney Andrews’ death. She did so many more despicable things, but I am only allowed so much space.
1. J.R. Ewing, Dallas
A power-hungry man is usually thought of as villainous, so it is no surprise J.R. Ewing topped our list. Ewing was a #1 womanizer and would surround himself with corrupt public figures to get what he wanted, which was usually more money. J.R. was hated so much that he was shot in one of the most watched TV show episodes of all time. Ewing continued his scheming up to the day he died. He has left a legacy for being a villain over a span of 35 years.
