Daryl Dixon will ride again this fall.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 2, now titled The Book of Carol, is set to premiere on Sunday, Sept. 29, at 9pm ET/PT on AMC and AMC+.
Season 2 will see Norman Reedus’ Daryl and Melissa McBride’s Carol confront old demons. Carol will strive to find Daryl as he grapples with his choice to stay in France, causing tension at the Nest. Meanwhile, Genet’s nationalist movement gains traction, driving a wedge between Pouvoir and the Union of Hope in a tense battle for France’s future.
The spin-off was renewed for a second season back in July 2023, well before the series premiered. At the end of Season 1, McBride made a surprise cameo ahead of her addition as a series regular in Season 2.
Dynamic Duo Return to Action
In the first season, McBride’s role as Carol was limited, while Reedus’ Daryl took center stage. This season promises more shared screen time, as indicated by the title change to The Book of Carol. McBride shared her excitement about rejoining the series: I’ve known there was much more to be told of Carol’s story as I felt her so unsettled when we last saw her, as she watched her best friend, Daryl, ride away. Apart or (hopefully!) together, their stories run deep, and I’m so excited to continue Carol’s journey here.
Cameo Now Full-Time Role
McBride’s cameo at the end of Season 1 was a teaser for fans eagerly waiting for more of Carol’s story alongside Daryl.
