Shark Week 2022: A Lineup You Can’t Miss

Discovery Channel has officially unleashed Shark Week 2022, and it’s already packed with content. Specials premiered between July 15th and July 23rd, leading up to the official event starting Sunday, July 24th, with three new specials. Shark Week 2022 boasts a stacked lineup, with three or four new specials airing every day from Sunday, July 24th to Saturday, July 30th.

Pre-Shark Week 2022: A Taste of What’s to Come

As a tantalizing introduction to Shark Week 2022, Discovery Channel premiered its first two specials, “Dawn of the Monster Mako” and “The Haunting of Shark Tower,” on July 15th. Discovery+ added “Great White Intersection” on July 23rd, the day before the official Shark Week 2022 festivities began. While these first three specials didn’t feature any celebrities or The Rock, they set the stage for the star-studded Shark Week 2022 lineup.

Jackass Shark Week 2.0: Stunts, Sharks, and Second Chances

Last year, the “Jackass” cast made a splash during Shark Week 2021 to promote their movie “Jackass Forever.” In true Jackass fashion, one of their newest members was bitten by a shark after a stunt. This year, the cast returns for “Jackass Shark Week 2.0” without Steve-O, embarking on another shark adventure. The special focuses on helping the bitten cast member, Poopies, overcome his fear of sharks while introducing new cast members Dark Shark and Zach Holmes to some hair-raising encounters. The “Jackass” cast will also return for “Jackass Shark Week 2.0 Encore” on Sunday.

Impractical Jokers Shark Week Spectacular: Laughs and Jaws

Sal, Murr, and Q of the Impractical Jokers have their own Shark Week special, premiering on Tuesday, July 26th at 8 PM EST, called “Impractical Jokers Shark Week Spectacular.” Although fan-favorite Joe has left the show, the remaining trio has brought in different celebrities each episode to keep fans entertained. For Shark Week 2022, expect appearances from shark biologists and scientists alongside the comedic trio. The Impractical Jokers have become a staple in the world of practical television, outlasting shows like “Candid Video” and “Punk’d.”

Stranger Sharks: Uncovering the Ocean’s Mysteries

“Stranger Sharks” combines the worlds of “Stranger Things“, Shark Week, and YouTube personality Mark Rober. With “Stranger Things” fresh off its latest season, Noah Schnapp and Mark Rober team up to search for the strangest sharks within artificial reefs and undersea ruins. “Stranger Sharks” premieres on Tuesday, July 26th at 7 PM EST on Discovery Channel and Discovery+.

Sharks! With Tracey Morgan: A Comedian’s Love for the Ocean’s Predators

Tracey Morgan, a shark enthusiast and owner, has long been fascinated by sharks and other aquatic creatures, such as octopuses. He has appeared on aquatic-related shows like “Tanked” before joining Shark Week 2022. In “Sharks! With Tracey Morgan,” the comedian shares his love for these animals in a joyful and entertaining special. While the full list of celebrity appearances for Shark Week 2022 remains a mystery, we can expect some surprise guests to make a splash during the event.
