Rochelle Aytes is moving networks.
The actress will leave the network’s popular procedural S.W.A.T. as a series regular to star alongside Morris Chestnut in the upcoming CBS medical drama Watson. According to Deadline, there are hopes that she will return for recurring appearances in Season 8.
Aytes portrays Nichelle Carmichael, the wife of protagonist Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson, played by Shemar Moore. First appearing in Season 3, she became a full-time cast member by Season 6. The show has been on the air since November 2
, adding more depth with each season.

Season 7 was initially predicted to be the final season, with original cast members Kenny Johnson and Alex Russell being demoted from series regulars. While Luca and Street were written out before the finale, the show’s unexpected renewal leaves some room for potential guest appearances.
