Resident Alien is set for a new chapter. The darkly comedic sci-fi series, helmed by Alan Tudyk, has officially been renewed for a fourth season and will now be airing on USA Network, shifting from its original home on Syfy.
The move to USA Network aims to give the show a broader audience reach. This decision comes after an awareness boost garnered from Netflix including the first two seasons in its library earlier this year. The third season of Resident Alien managed to accumulate an average viewership of 3.3 million across all platforms.
A New Home for Harry Vanderspeigle
Alan Tudyk stars as Harry Vanderspeigle, the extraterrestrial who crash-landed on Earth and takes on the identity of a small-town Colorado doctor while hiding his mission to destroy humanity. As described by Tudyk, “Even though he is, in a lot of ways, more evolved, from a more evolved planet, he’s an idiot,” Tudyk says of Harry. “He’s ignorant when it comes to humans and the world, and definitely how the Earth works. But his reasoning can be very funny to us. To him it makes sense, but to us, it can seem absurdly callous and really funny in the moment. … He starts out coming to destroy, but as he learns more from humans, he grows.”

His vision has steered the series since its inception and he continues to stand at the helm for the upcoming season.
