Baroque Works agents join successful adaptation.
Netflix has managed an impressive feat with its live-action One Piece. Adapting the anime/manga’s over-the-top visual designs and fight choreography was no easy task, but the series has largely pleased both existing fans and newcomers.
After widespread acclaim and high viewership numbers from last August’s release of the first season, Netflix quickly announced a second season. Though a release date is yet to be unveiled, Netflix has provided a glimpse of what’s to come by revealing four new cast members for Season 2.
The Baroque Works Members
No fewer than four agents of the Baroque Works organization are slated to appear in Season 2. Daniel Lasker is confirmed to play Mr. 9.
Camrus Johnson, known for his role in Batwoman, will take on the character of Mr. 5.
New Faces Join the Ensemble
Jazzara Jaslyn, recognized for her performance in Warrior, is set to portray Miss Valentine.
David Dastmalchian, known for his role in Late Night with the Devil, will play Mr. 3.
The Doctor and Her Pupil
Showrunner Matt Owens has confirmed that Dr. Kureha will also appear in Season 2, yet her actress remains unnamed. Further exciting news comes from One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda, who has promised that Kureha’s prized pupil, Tony Tony Chopper, will make his debut as well.
