After two years of dating, Josh Lucas, best known for his roles in Yellowstone and Palm Royale, and meteorologist Brianna Ruffalo have announced their engagement. The couple shared their joyful news through social media, much to the delight of their fans.

Josh Lucas, 53, posted an emotional message on Instagram, accompanied by footage from the dinner where he proposed. The video showed Ruffalo tearfully smiling as musicians played an acoustic version of Elvis Presley’s I Can’t Help Falling in Love. In his post, Lucas expressed his deep affection: For the last two years in every way and every day this beautiful soul has made me and my life better, deeper, and more whole. I am so grateful and thrilled she said ‘yes.’
Expressing his gratitude, Lucas continued: I WAY love you, Brianna. & Thank you to our families and all the people and places that made this come true. I am absolutely aware I got crazy lucky.
Brianna Ruffalo’s Joy
The ABC7 meteorologist also shared her excitement on social media, displaying her dazzling new engagement ring alongside heartfelt words. Reflecting on their relationship, she wrote: Almost two years ago this fall, and with no expectations, Josh walked into my life. And we knew almost immediately we had each found our person in a way we’ve never experienced — on every level.
Ruffalo added: This was the easiest and best question I’ve ever answered. So, here’s to forever with my love, my best friend. I can’t wait to keep living this life with you.
The Relationship Timeline
One year into their relationship, Lucas and Ruffalo went public and have since been spotted at several Hollywood events. Earlier this year, during the March premiere of Lucas’ Apple TV+ series Palm Royale, Ruffalo jokingly admitted to E! News that despite her romance with Lucas, she still rooted for Patrick Dempsey’s character from the 2002 romantic comedy Sweet Home Alabama.
Josh Lucas, who portrayed Jake Perry in the film alongside Reese Witherspoon, humorously recalled: Brianna has never wavered on that particular stance. From day one, she was like, ‘Oh yeah, you were the other guy.’ She was like, ‘I didn’t like you because you stole [Reese’s character] from Patrick.’
The couple has also shared moments from their travels together on social media. A recent set of photos from their trip to Italy included a caption from Ruffalo stating: Back to the motherland. Favorite place with my favorite guy.
Looking Forward
This marks a new chapter for Josh Lucas, who shares a 12-year-old son named Noah from his previous marriage to writer Jessica Ciencin Henriquez. The couple divorced in 2014 after being married for two years.
