1. He’s From Italy

Gabriele was born and raised in Flornece, Italy in a house where his mother cooked a lot. As a result, he developed an interest and an appreciation in food at an early age. Gabriele spent a lot of time helping his mom in the kitchen and watching her work. He currently spends his time living between Los Angeles, Italy, and London.

2. He Loves Traveling

As a chef, Gabriele thinks that traveling is one of the most important things he can do. He told Candid Magazine, “For me, travelling [sic] was a very important component that was connected to my creativity. I always say that I never believe that a chef can be as great as he can be without travelling [sic]. My goal was to be as inspired as I could be by new places, by new cultures, by a new way of living, by new foods, but also to share my heritage and my cultural with the people around me.”

3. He’s HIV Positive

When Gabriele started filming for Say I Do, he didn’t plan on opening up – but he did. During the first episode, he revealed that he is HIV positive. Even though the moment wasn’t planned, it was a true show of vulnerability that really led to a special exchange between Gabriele and the groom.

4. He Went To Culinary School At 13

Gabriele starting getting serious about cooking at a very early age. He was just 13 when he enrolled in culinary school. However, culinary arts aren’t the only thing he’s studied. Gabriele also attended Arizona State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism. He has another bachelor’s degree in applied science.

5. He’s A Spin Instructor

When Gabriele isn’t busy in the kitchen, you can catch him burning calories at Flywheel Sports. Gabriele is a spin instructor with the company. According to his bio on the Flywheel Sports website, people who visit Gabriele’s class can expect to pushed to find strength they didn’t know they had.

6. He’s In A Relationship

We’ve all been told that love always finds you when you expect it the least, and that turned out to be true for Gabriele. He met his boyfriend right before filming started for Say I Do. He hasn’t shared any details about his relationship, but he seems to be very happy.

7. He’s A Dog Person

Gabriele doesn’t have any children of his own, but he’s a proud dad none the less. He has four adorable Australian shepherds who he loves hanging out with whenever he gets the chance. Gabriele and his dogs love to go on all sorts of adventures, and their bond is proof of exactly why dogs are considered man’s best friend.

8. He Loves Being Outside

Gabriele loves his job, but everyone needs a break from time to time. What better way to take a break than to enjoy the beauty of nature? Fresh air does the body good, and Gabriele likes to get as much of it as he can. He loves spending time doing things like hiking, biking, and swimming.

9. He Owns A Business

Cooking is Gabriele’s passion, but he’s also passionate about securing the bag. He is a an entrepreneur who started his own business in 2008 called II Tocco and Culinary Mischief. His business focuses on providing costumers with high-quality food and wine experiences.

10. He’s A Writer

There are lots of people who don’t end up working a job that has anything to do with what they went to school for, but Gabriele is putting his journalism degree to good use. Throughout the years, he has worked as a freelance writer for various online publications where he covered culinary topics. Getting able to make a living by doing all of the things you love is truly a dream come true.
