Megalopolis Shines a Spotlight

Francis Ford Coppola’s futuristic epic Megalopolis, which was filmed at Trilith Studios in Fayetteville, Ga., and other metro Atlanta locations, made its much-awaited premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. This production exemplifies how major film projects can bring visibility and economic benefits to Georgia. The film’s use of local sites underscores the vast opportunities available for South Georgia residents looking to break into the industry.

The Power of Short Films

The festival highlights the importance of short films as well. Known for providing an avenue for creative expression and artistic innovation, shorts often act as a stepping stone for emerging talent. Some filmmakers choose to start dream projects as short films using fewer resources to limit costs and effectively showcase their vision, noted a festival participant. Last year’s Best Short award went to Things Unheard Of, illustrating the impact that well-crafted short films can have.
