The Dead Files is Back for Its 11th Season

There are a lot of people out there who thoroughly enjoy watching television programs about all things paranormal. Why are these types of shows so popular right now? The truth is, they have been tremendously popular for a few years now, largely because there are a lot of people who want to know more about the subject. Some watch for laughs because they don’t believe in the paranormal. Some watch with a far more serious attitude because they do. Others merely consider this type of programming to be good entertainment.

If you have spent some time watching shows about the paranormal yourself, you might already be familiar with a show called The Dead Files. So far, it has aired for ten seasons and is just beginning its eleventh season on The Travel Channel.

If you’re not already familiar with the show, it features a retired New York detective and a psychic that work on the same cases, yet they do all of their initial work separately. As you might have guessed, the police detective takes exactly the same route with these investigations as he did when he was on the police force. He strives to find out who lived in a particular residence, what might have happened there, so on and so forth. The psychic comes in and does a walk-through of the structure in question, presumably without ever being told anything about it. She comes with a camera operator and provides the information she picks up on camera so they can come back it later. She usually draws the impressions that come to her mind.

Later, both investigators meet with the family and they compare notes. Sometimes it is uncanny how close the information is from both sources, especially when it is confirmed to be true by the people who are currently living there or through some other source. As you can see, this is a show about the paranormal, but it has its own unique twist. As far as season eleven goes, there is sure to be plenty of lost souls and other paranormal entities that these two will attempt to deal with. In the process, they are helping the families who are living in these homes and don’t know who else they can turn to. If you want to learn more about these entities and the types of individuals that are often recommended to stop them, you have to tune in and watch the new season of episodes.

You might think that after ten seasons, there isn’t much left to explore on this type of show, but that really couldn’t be further from the truth. There are hundreds of cases across the the United States each and every year that are related to the paranormal. Each case is as varied as the people who report them. As a result, you never really know what you are going to get until you sit down and watch a particular episode. Even if it is similar to something you have seen in a previous episode, you can bet there will be some key differences.
