‘Dark’ Renewed For Second Season By Netflix

If you have been enjoying the current season of ‘Dark’ on Netflix, you will be pleased to hear that the show has been renewed for a second season. The series was the first German-language show to be produced by Netflix and has proved to be very popular throughout Europe and in the United States.

The show is set in a small German town and focuses on the lives of four families that begin to fall apart with the disappearance of two teenagers. The show is set in the present day but there is a supernatural time traveling element to the show that goes back to the mid-80s. There are ten episodes in the first season and these are all an hour long. If you have seen the first season then you will know that there is so much detail in the shows that you get to the end and wonder how everything was conveyed in just ten hours.

The reason that Netflix was so excited about the first season is that they recognized that a show like this had not been seen on TV before anywhere around the world. The subject of time travel has been featured in other shows but not in the same context as it is in ‘Dark’. It is difficult to make comparisons to other shows because it is so different. The show was a risk for Netflix because it was the first show that they had produced that was not in English. However, the subject of the show was also a risk and it is one that has undoubtedly paid of. In the end, it was probably a fairly easy decision to renew as there was a lot of expectation from fans that renewal was the only option.

The creators of the series Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese are understandably delighted by the decision to renew for a second season. They thanked the actors and the crew for all the hard work they have put in for the first season and have promised fans that they have lots of ideas already for the next series. There are still stories that have not been fully explained and there are characters that have had minor roles that the audience would like to know much more about.

No dates have been announced about when the second season will start filming or when it will be shown on Netflix. Further details are expected to be released as it becomes available. Fans are eagerly awaiting news of whether the second season will have more than ten episodes or whether each episode will be longer. The producers have promised that there will be a lot more surprises in store and so fans have plenty to look forward to.

If you have not seen the first season then all episodes are available for streaming now on Netflix and this is the only place that it can be viewed. There may be some wait before the second season starts to air so you have plenty of time to make sure that you are all caught up.
