Nash’s Inspirations and Unique Approach
Nash didn’t draw inspiration from typical slasher films. His direction mimics approaches from directors like Terrence Malick and Gus Van Sant by tracking Johnny from behind rather than presenting him frontally. As Nash himself described it: This POV gives audiences a front-row seat to the killer’s sensory experience as he tracks his prey through the forest.
