Will Forte has been added to the cast of Netflix’s upcoming comedy The Four Seasons, joining notable stars such as Tina Fey and Steve Carell. This project is shaping up to be quite an interesting one, especially with the blend of comedic talent involved.
Fey, Lang Fisher, and Tracey Wigfield are behind the series, which is an adaptation of the 1981 film written and directed by Alan Alda, who starred alongside Carol Burnett. The film focused on three married couples who take vacations together each season, until one husband leaves his wife and brings along a younger woman.
Forte was most recently seen in Netflix’s Bodkin. Speaking about his time during its filming, he shared, We had so much fun doing it. Everybody had a good time on set and it was just a magical experience.
The Saturday Night Live alum’s extensive list of credits includes Last Man on Earth, Sweet Tooth, and his infamous role in MacGruber.
Who Else Is Joining?
Apart from Forte, previously announced cast members include Colman Domingo, Kerri Kenney-Silver, and Erika Henningsen. Henningsen is best known for her work on Broadway including her celebrated role as Cady Heron in the 2018 musical Mean Girls.
Tina Fey’s extensive background in comedy is noteworthy here. She remarked on the sitcom filming approach for her previous work stating,[The] single camera approach is just like what’s in fashion right now, I think you can make a very good comedy in front of an audience.
Ada’s Influence and Production Plans
The original film’s creator, Alan Alda, will have a hand in producing this new adaptation alongside Marissa Bregman. Universal Studio Group’s Universal Television will produce the show with Fey’s Little Stranger shingle.
Forte spent eight seasons on SNL. His other notable works include voicing Otis in Netflix’s Thelma The Unicorn, participating in Pixar’s first long-form series for Disney+ Win or Lose, and voicing characters in Fox’s The Great North.
Upcoming and Ongoing Projects
The show has received an eight-episode order at Netflix and is set to begin production later this year. It seems that there’s plenty to look forward to with this ensemble of comedic heavyweights stepping into their roles for The Four Seasons.
