Why Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club is Bad For Television

Why Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club is Bad For Television

Why is Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club a bad idea for television in general? There are just so many reasons. If you’re not already familiar with the show, this is yet another business venture that sort of feels more like bad reality television, all at the hands of actress Lindsay Lohan. You just know that whenever her name is attached to something, things are going to get interesting, to say the least. There are many reasons this show isn’t good for television. Below are five of the top reasons. See if any of them resonate with you.

1. You Know There Will be Drama

When Lohan is involved, you know that things are going to get crazy. After all, she has been a drama queen, in the most dramatic sense, for several years now. Remember, this is the person who started out as an immensely talented child actress that sort of went off the rails when she got into her teens. Things never really leveled out for her. Even well into adulthood, she has developed a reputation for being someone who likes to party more than anything else. This is the very thing that got her fired from a number of movie sets. It’s also precisely what MTV was looking for when they decided to do the show with her.

2. It’s from MTV

Is there really anything else that needs to be said here? This is the same place that has aired other shows like Jersey Shore and the one show with a title that unquestionably drives all English majors nuts, Floribama Shore. Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last decade or so, you have at least seen commercials for these types of shows, even if you don’t ever watch this kind of stuff. There isn’t much substance to these shows and that’s a major understatement. If you’re looking for something that’s actually going to inspire you or enrich your knowledge about something, this is definitely not it.

3. Don’t Let Your Kids Watch This Show

When you consider the way Lohan likes to party, this one shouldn’t come as a surprise to you. There are a lot of things that go on here that are simply not appropriate for children to see. As a matter of fact, there are things that go on in this show that are inappropriate for adults. It’s really a show that is all about drinking, sex, and just about everything else that’s better left unsaid. You can’t even let your kids listen to the “conversations” that go on in this place. If you do, you’re going to be forced to answer a lot of very uncomfortable questions from your kids later on.

4. The People Who “Work” There are Hired to be Abrasive

The so-called staff at the place is not like the staff that you might expect to find in almost any other location. They were selected by MTV for one thing and one thing only. They are there because they look good on camera. That’s it. There’s nothing else to it. As a matter of fact, they were actually told by MTV that they should be as abrasive as possible. Unfortunately, this is something that seems to come naturally for the overwhelming majority of them. It doesn’t help that they are encouraged by the network to constantly argue and make lewd comments that would be very much better left unsaid.

5. It’s “Reality” Television at Its Worst

It’s hard to even understand why anyone in their right mind would be remotely interested in watching this type of rubbish. It does nothing to educate you and it doesn’t even entertain you. Like most of these “reality” television shows, most of the stuff that goes on there is scripted and the only purpose for the show’s existence is to make your IQ drop a few points each time you watch it. This show has nothing to offer and lacks substance. Why would you want to tune in just so you can watch people who have nothing better to do with their time insult each other and act like they don’t have the good sense to come in out of the rain?
