Wallace & Gromit are set to return this Christmas in the highly anticipated special Vengeance Most Fowl, airing on the BBC. This will be their first major TV/film adventure since A Matter of Loaf and Death back in 2008.
Supervillain Feathers McGraw Returns
The iconic supervillain penguin, Feathers McGraw, who first terrified audiences in 1993’s The Wrong Trousers, is back for revenge. Nick Park, creator of Wallace & Gromit, shared, Then it hit me: What if Feathers was involved with these gnomes? We’re hoping that this film will appeal to fans of ‘Gnome Noir’ everywhere and that people will be gratified when they see what Feathers has been up to since The Wrong Trousers.
A Star-Studded Cast
Ben Whitehead will continue as the voice of Wallace, a role he took over following Peter Sallis’s retirement. Peter Kay will reprise his role as Chief Inspector Mackintosh, alongside performances from Reece Shearsmith, Diane Morgan, Adjoa Andoh, and Lenny Henry.
An Exciting Plot with a Modern Twist
The 70-minute special focuses on Gromit’s growing concern that Wallace has become overly dependent on his inventions. This fear realizes itself when Wallace creates a ‘smart gnome’ that develops its own sinister mind. As chaos ensues, it’s up to Gromit to tackle these forces, potentially the work of Feathers McGraw.
Director’s Enthusiasm
Creative Director Merlin Crossingham expressed his excitement: Directing these beloved characters into fresh adventures has been both thrilling and nostalgic. Fans can expect the same heartwarming essence of Wallace and Gromit with an added sprinkle of mischief and surprises!
A Delightful Voice Cast
Peter Kay returns as Chief Inspector Mackintosh, Adjoa Andoh lends her voice to a new character, furthering anticipation for the special. The new film promises excitements similar to past works but aims to connect with new audiences as well.
