AMC announced today that The Book of Carol will premiere on its cable network and on AMC+ on Sunday, September 29. This is slightly later than the summer 2024 release window previously teased in March; however, the exact release date brings clarity.

According to AMC’s official synopsis, The Book of Carol will commence where The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon concluded last October. The series will see Norman Reedus' Daryl and Melissa McBride's Carol back on screen together.
They both confront old demons while she fights to find her friend and he struggles with his decision to stay in France, causing tension at the Nest.

A key addition to the cast is Anne Charrier as Genet, leading her movement with Pouvoir, setting up a significant conflict.
Additionally, Genet’s (Anne Charrier) movement builds momentum, setting Pouvoir on a violent collision course with the Union of Hope in the fight for France’s future.

The cast also includes Clémence Poésy as Isabelle, Louis Puech Scigliuzzi as Laurent, Laika Blanc Francard as Sylvie, Romain Levi as Codron, and Eriq Ebouaney as Fallou. The Walking Dead Spinoff The Book of Carol Arrives This September

We first learned about Season 2 focusing on Carol and Daryl during New York Comic-Con last year. The announcement fulfilled initial spinoff plans which had been adjusted when McBride couldn’t join the first season due to logistical reasons.
I’ve known there was much more to be told of Carol’s story as I felt her so unsettled when we last saw her…This team of storytellers have done amazing work to land these two established characters in an entirely new world to them, and I’m loving the discoveries!

The Book of Carol joins other spinoffs such as The Walking Dead: Dead City, featuring Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan), and The Ones Who Live, following Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira). Fans eagerly anticipate these intertwined narratives expanding the universe.
