Adam Elliot’s animated feature Memoir of a Snail, featuring Sarah Snook in its voice cast, has secured deals in key international territories ahead of its world premiere at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival next week. The film will be represented by Anton and Charades.
The film has sold to Benelux (Bantam), Spain (Madfer), Switzerland (Pathe), Austria (Polyfilm), Denmark (Angel Film), Norway (Arthaus), Iceland (Bio Paradis), Sweden and remaining Scandinavian territories (Folkets Bio), Taiwan (Hooray Films), CIS (Magic Films), Israel (Lev Cinema), Turkey (Bir Film), Adriatics (MCF Megacom), Thailand (Sahamongkol), India (Pictureworks) and airlines (Aardwolf).
A Significant World Premiere at Annecy
Memoir of a Snail will have its world premiere on Monday, June 10 at the prestigious Bonlieu Grande Salle during Annecy. The festival, which is the world’s largest animation event, has been attracting fans of all persuasions for over 60 years. The Melbourne International Film Festival is set to feature the movie as its opening film in August.

The voice cast includes renowned talents such as Kodi Smit-McPhee, Eric Bana, Nick Cave, and Jacki Weaver. Screen Australia provided production investment in association with Anton and Charades.
A Storied Journey to the Big Screen
Elliot, who won an Oscar for his animated short film Harvie Krumpet, has crafted another remarkable piece. Reflecting on his creative process, he mentioned, The truth is, they are all based on real people: they just happen to be my family and friends.
He continued, ‘Memoir of a Snail‘ has a lot of my mother. We call her a ‘reformed hoarder,’ but she still collects.

Elliot’s emotionally moving story about little Grace Puddle, separated from her twin brother Gilbert following their parents’ deaths, unfolds brilliantly with voice performances that breathe life into characters inspired by people close to him.
