A Journey from Lincolnshire to Hollywood
Matthew Miele, one of the executive producers, stated: Having the opportunity to chronicle the brown dirt cowboy, aka Bernie Taupin, has been a story I have been working toward my entire career.
Accolades and Achievements
Recently, Taupin released his New York Times bestselling autobiography, Scattershot: Life, Music, Elton, and Me. His induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame last November further cements his legacy. Earlier this year, he and Elton were awarded the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song.
This documentary joins Network Entertainment’s diverse slate of past projects such as Andrew McCarthy’s Brat Pack doc, Brats, and Sidney Poitier’s documentary for Apple TV+, Sidney.
A Tribute to Creativity
Derik Murray, Founder of Network Entertainment, commented: We are proud to be working with Bernie on the definitive documentary of his inspiring journey and musical legacy. We’re also incredibly grateful for the opportunity to shine a light on the mystery behind the genius of Bernie.
Diverse Artistic Contributions
The film will include appearances by other legendary artists sharing their experiences and admiration for Taupin’s work. For instance, James Hetfield remarked about another musician in context: If there was a school for rock, he would be my teacher… He’s the foundation of the rhythmic section in Metallica.
The documentary promises to shine not just as an ode to Bernie Taupin’s artistic pursuits but also as an enlightening glance at his life’s milestones.
