I’ve always been partial to the Irish good-bye, Easton began in his video. That’s where you leave the party without actually telling anyone you’re gone. But I thought you all deserved better. So I just want to let you know that I just filmed my final scenes here at General Hospital.

A Bittersweet Departure

Michael Easton went on to express his gratitude towards the show’s cast, crew, and fans:

I’ve loved every minute that I’ve been here. I want to thank the entire cast and crew for allowing me to share their stage this past 10 years. Most importantly, I want to thank all of you for the kindness and love you’ve shown me and my family.

His former co-star Nancy Lee Grahn, known for her role as Alexis, commented on his post saying, The class, grace and elegance in which you just did that is why I will miss you every working day.

A Long Career in Daytime Television

Easton’s soap career launched in Salem with him playing Tanner Scofield on Days of Our Lives from 1990-92. He compared the experience nostalgically by recalling standing at a pay phone on Venice Boulevard with just enough change to call his mother and announce he had landed the role.

After a significant career in primetime television, starring in shows like Ally McBeal and Total Recall, Easton returned to daytime drama in 2000 on Port Charles. There he played Stephen and Caleb until the show’s cancellation in 2003.
