Jonathan Jackson, who vacated his role as Lucky Spencer in 2015 after returning for a short stint, is returning home to the ABC series this summer for an expectedly lengthy run. This information arrives as fans celebrate General Hospital‘s recent winning streak at the Daytime Emmys. Winning the Best Drama award, GH boss Frank Valentini dedicated their honor to the late Sonya Eddy, who posthumously won a Daytime Emmy herself.
Not only is Jackson returning but so too is Bryan Craig, who will reprise his role as Morgan Corinthos for a single day in August. Long-time fans may remember Craig from his unforgettable performance during his character’s car bomb explosion.
The Legacy of Lucky Spencer
Jackson debuted as Lucky Spencer back in 1993, becoming enmeshed in one of soap’s most iconic storylines as the son of super-couple Luke and Laura Spencer (played by Anthony Geary and Genie Francis). Over the years, other actors like Jacob Young and Greg Vaughan have portrayed Lucky when Jackson pursued other projects, including roles in films such as The Deep End of the Ocean, On the Edge, and Tuck Everlasting.
