The trailer for House of the Dragon Season 2 brims with tension as both House Targaryen and House Hightower prepare for all-out war after a controversial death.
The first season concluded with a significant twist: Rhaenyra Targaryen’s (Emma D’Arcy) son, Lucerys “Luke” Velaryon (Elliot Grihault), and his dragon Arrax were killed by Aemond Targaryen’s (Ewan Mitchell) dragon Vhagar. This act, executed without Aemond’s command, pushed Westeros towards a brutal civil war.
The second season premiere intensified this conflict, pushing the clans closer to war. Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith), without Queen Rhaenyra’s consent, hired two assassins disguised as ratcatchers to infiltrate the Red Keep and murder Aemond. They found Queen Helaena Targaryen (Phia Saban) and her twins, resulting in the brutal slaughter of Jaehaerys.
