David Bruckner (V/H/S, Southbound, The Ritual, The Night House, Hellraiser) has announced his next project: a new horror movie titled Mice, which will be financed and produced by A24.
Deadline reports that the script for Mice was penned by Todd Spence and Zak White. This marks their first sale to a major studio—an impressive milestone for the duo.
While specific plot details for Mice are currently under wraps, the involvement of A24 suggests that we can expect a standout script. A24 has gained a solid reputation in recent years with successful projects like MaXXXine, The Front Room, Heretic, and Crystal Lake.
Bruckner is no stranger to the horror genre. He has directed segments for anthologies such as ‘The Signal’s Crazy in Love’
, ‘V/H/S’s Amateur Night’
, and ‘Southbound’s The Accident’
. His most recent work includes ‘The Man in the Suitcase’
and ‘The Companion’
for the new Creepshow
series.
Discussing his approach to filmmaking, Bruckner once said, I think exploring fear and anxiety is a reason to go to movies and it’s something that I have taken an interest in, translating those kinds of emotions into horror tropes and putting them on screen. It’s something that fascinates me.
