Tension During a Ceremony
One scene depicts Moana participating in a ceremony only for it to be interrupted by a lightning strike. Director Derrick commented on this moment by saying, That can’t be good.
Introducing New Characters
A slew of new characters joins the familiar faces from the first film. Among them is Moana’s younger sister Simea, an engineer named Loto, a farmer named Kele, and Moni – described as the island’s most passionate storyteller who is obsessed with Maui.
Maui’s Return Under Scrutiny
The sequel brings back Maui under contentious circumstances. Maui has been accused by other Polynesian Gods and Goddesses of stealing a powerful item known as the Peace-Keeping Stone.
Kakamora Tribe’s Fearsome Return
