Technical Issues Plague the Set
Lauper encountered multiple technical setbacks including issues with her microphone which disrupted her performance. The Mirror noted these interruptions, adding that many fans left after she sang “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.”
Crowd Walkout Leaves a Mark
A noticeable portion of the audience began to walk away following her famous song. The Mirror reported that “the singer noticed people were heading away from the stage” and looked visibly sad.
Lauper’s Reflection on the Event
In a post-performance interview with BBC, Lauper admitted she “had a few technical things, wardrobe difficulties, but I had fun.”
She remarked on her struggle with self-admitted sound issues and problems with her silver pants.
A Bittersweet Farewell Tour
The artist remains optimistic despite the challenges at Glastonbury. Her farewell tour, which features 23 planned stops, is set to kick off in September. Fans can only hope for smoother sailing as Lauper says goodbye.
