21 Jump Street and 22 Jump Street star Channing Tatum still wants to make a third film in the franchise, and he said co-star Jonah Hill does too. During an interview with Comic Book, Tatum revealed that the movie—which has existed in some form for years—was hindered by a lot of bureaucracy
but mentioned it’s still the best script that I’ve ever read for a third movie.
Tatum and Hill Eager for Return
Tatum expressed his enthusiasm, saying, I would love to do it with Jonah, and Jonah, I know, wants to do it. It’s just a lot of bureaucracy, kind of above the line stuff. It’s really hard to get it made and we’ve been trying to get it done.
The Script’s Long Journey
A third movie was officially put in development by Sony Pictures back in September 2014 with 22 Jump Street
scribe Rodney Rothman commissioned to write the script. Soon after, during the notorious Sony hack, it was revealed that 23 Jump Street
was intended as a crossover with the iconic Men in Black
franchise.

This ambitious crossover idea caused substantial delays. Despite the initial excitement, elements like combining two distinct universes provided complex challenges.
