In a notable industry shift, Don Hall, the Academy Award-winning director known for modern animated classics like Big Hero 6, Moana, and Raya and the Last Dragon, has embarked on a new venture. He recently finalized a deal to create, develop, and produce an original animated feature for Skydance Animation.
A veteran career at Disney Animation
Hall’s illustrious career includes directing 2014’s Big Hero 6, which won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. In addition to his work on Moana, he directed Winnie the Pooh in 2011, and more recently, Strange World. Special mention must be made of his involvement with Disney’s prestigious Story Trust team which collaboratively worked on hits like Tangled, Zootopia, and Frozen.

Besides this new film under Hall, Skydance Animation’s upcoming releases include Vicky Jenson’s much-anticipated Spellbound.
