Screen Gems and PlayStation Productions’ feature adaptation of the PlayStation game Until Dawn has announced its stellar ensemble cast. Rising stars Ella Rubin, Michael Cimino, Ji-young Yoo, and Odessa A’zion have been selected for the upcoming film. David F. Sandberg has been appointed as the director.

Mystery Surrounding the Plot
The plot details remain under wraps, but the movie is described as an R-rated and terrifying love letter to the horror genre. It will center around an ensemble cast.
Script Craftsmanship
Gary Dauberman penned the latest script draft, succeeding Blair Butler’s earlier version. Dauberman, known for his association with the studio through his Coin Operated banner, is producing the project along with Mia Maniscalco.
Diverse Talent Roster
The cast features actors from various acclaimed projects:
Ella Rubin is currently starring alongside Anne Hathaway in Prime Video’s hit film The Idea of You. Rubin’s repertoire includes roles in Adult Children, Palme d’Or-winning Anora, and Netflix’s Fear Street: Prom Queens.
Michael Cimino, best known as Victor in Hulu’s Love, Victor, is now filming for Prime Video’s drama Motorheads. He has also featured in Netflix’s Never Have I Ever, and New Line Cinema’s Annabelle Comes Home.
Ji-young Yoo, acclaimed for her performance in Prime Video’s series Expats, won Best Performance in a U.S. Narrative Feature at Tribeca Festival 2023 for her role in Smoking Tigers. Yoo will next be seen in the film Freaky Tales.
Odessa A’zion, currently receiving praise for her role in Sitting In Bars With Cake, co-starring Bette Midler and Yara Shahidi, has completed filming another project titled She Rides Shotgun.
A Collaborative Production Effort
A notable production team backs this adaptation, featuring names like Roy Lee from Vertigo Entertainment and Lotta Losten from Mängata. Also involved are PlayStation Productions’ Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan. That dedicated teamwork promises a comprehensive vision translating excitingly onto the screen.

The original video game follows eight friends trapped on a remote mountain retreat who discover they are not alone. Gripped by fear and rising tensions, these friends must strive to make it through the night alive.
