Universal has officially marked the calendar for Jordan Peele‘s highly anticipated next feature, setting its release for October 23, 2026. Given Peele’s track record with horror, the timing aligns perfectly with the Halloween season.
Starting his career in comedy, Peele quickly ascended to the rank of A-list directors with his 2017 breakout film Get Out. The film not only earned him an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay but also received nominations for Best Picture, Best Director, and a nod for Best Actor for Daniel Kaluuya. On a modest budget of $4.5 million, Get Out went on to gross $255.4 million globally.
The Impressive Earnings Continue
Peele’s subsequent films have cemented his position as a master of modern horror. His 2019 release Us garnered $256.2 million, followed by 2022’s Nope, which earned $171.2 million.
His next venture is being produced under his own banner, Monkeypaw Productions. Beyond directing, Peele is also known for having a robust producing portfolio; he will bring the Marlon Wayans-starring Him to life this September.

This isn’t the first time studio decisions have highlighted adjustments due to industry fluxes. Eggers’ film previously echoed success with The Northman
, which grossed $34.2 million domestically and $69.6 million globally back in 2022.
