Check Out this Beatles-Themed Vinyl Jukebox get Designed and Built

Designing a vinyl jukebox based on the Beatles Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club might not sound like it would be that hard, but when you watch this guy get into it you get the idea that it’s anything but. The amount of detail that goes into this thing is intense. The cutting of the pictures to make sure that they’re to the proper scale and will fit precisely where they need to is something that seems like it’s no big deal for the designer, but it’s likely that he’s been doing this kind of thing for a while and could do it in his sleep. Watching how quickly and accurately me moves to render each picture and design component in the manner that it’s needed is something I tend to enjoy watching since the craftsmanship is fun to see.

Even more precision would be needed when the thing is being constructed however since the graphics have to work along with the machinery and make it look even more impressive than it already would at that point. This was after all one of the Beatles’ most popular albums and as a result it would need to be breathtaking, especially given that such things as this are now considered luxury items and aren’t to be found absolutely everywhere. Jukeboxes are swiftly becoming a thing of the past as online downloads and other such methods are becoming so popular in bars where the standard record players used to be the big thing. Even I can recall going to a few places that would have the old-fashioned jukeboxes into which you’d plunk your change and make your selection.

There was something so special about them, in fact there still is since it gives you that feeling of nostalgia for the good old times when people would actually walk into a bar and pick out a decent song instead of something that might set your teeth on edge. These days a lot of places with jukeboxes seem not to utilize them as much, keeping them around mostly for the novelty of it at times. That’s all well and good, but a jukebox is something that needs to be enjoyed and played whenever possible during business hours just to remind people it’s there.

For a Beatle-maniac I’m sure this one would carry a lot of significance since the Beatles were one of the greatest bands to ever exist and are still remembered fondly today. There aren’t as many fans left and the movement they created has long since gone past what they might have imagined, but the influence of their music and the feelings they invoked within people are still around. You ask just about anyone who the Beatles are and they’ll know at least one or two of them. Ask anyone from the 60’s and they should be able to tell you just what it was like when they were really popular. That kind of fame doesn’t just fade away that easily, as you can see from this clip.
