Exciting news for fans of The Voice! Original coach Adam Levine will make his return to the NBC singing competition show for Season 27. Joining him as a new coach is Kelsea Ballerini, who has previously been a battle advisor and fill-in coach.
The Maroon 5 frontman and the country music star will mentor aspiring singers alongside returning coaches John Legend and Michael Bublé when Season 27 debuts in spring 2025.
Levine’s Legacy on The Voice
Adam Levine was among the inaugural coaches for The Voice in 2011, joining Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton, and CeeLo Green. He remained a staple for the first 16 seasons until he exited ahead of Season 17. During his tenure, members from his team won three times in Seasons 1, 5, and 9.
Ballerini Brings Her Expertise
Kelsea Ballerini is no stranger to The Voice. She served as a battle advisor for Team Kelly Clarkson in Season 16 and stepped in as a fill-in coach during Season 20. Her return as a full-time coach adds a fresh dynamic to the upcoming season.
Coaching Changes Over Time
Levine’s return marks a notable shift following Blake Shelton’s departure from the show after Season 23. Reba McEntire filled Shelton’s chair starting from Season 24. My friends, I’ve seen their kids literally grow up… It’s unbelievable, all the life that’s happened. I met my wife on there; you know, everything good that could come from something like that, I’ve maxed it out.
noted Blake Shelton as he reflected on his time with the show.
Lineup for Upcoming Seasons
Before Season 27 airs, Season 26 will feature Michael Bublé, Reba McEntire, Snoop Dogg, and returner Gwen Stefani as coaches. Notably, McEntire transitioned from being a mega mentor in Season 23 to a permanent coach role starting in Season 24.
