It’s disgusting, it’s vulgar, and it’s crude, but man is it ever funny. It’s the one bodily act that should able to be controlled so as not to offend anyone but it’s also the one act that some people tend to take a lot of pride in. Belching, burping, whatever you want to call it, is for better or worse a part of cinematic history that we can’t really ignore all that much considering that it’s been in a number of iconic and extremely popular movies that people happen to love. Normally it’s followed by cheering, looks of disgust, or in some cases by a mixed reaction that leaves you wondering just what to think about the whole situation.
Just let go and admit it’s funny, that’s usually the best option.
5. Elf
How many of us have let one go at the table? Come on, raise your hands because you know you’ve done this at least once in your life. Of course we got in trouble at one point and even made our parents wonder about us a little, but the whole point of it was to explore this wonderfully disgusting noise we’d learned how to make and show how proud we were of it. Later on we found out it wasn’t that great of a skill.
4. Grown Ups 2
You would think this would put way too much stress on your body if these three things were happening all at once. You burp, you sneeze, then you let one rip. Just the dynamics of it make me ache when I think of what could go wrong. I’d hate to go into the hospital or the chiropractor after throwing my back out. Telling them I did it with a burp snart would be the worst.
3. Shrek
I’m with Shrek on this one. Sometimes a hearty belch is one of the best compliments you can give a cook. After all it means that everything went down okay and something just came up to voice a thank you. It could be your stomach giving thanks for the great meal, ever think about that? Plus, once Fiona does it everything seems to be okay, so why worry?
2. Revenge of the Nerds 2
This could have easily been number one but I’ll tell you why it wasn’t in the next paragraph. So what’s that saying? When the student is ready the master will appear? Something tells me that Snotty’s been waiting there for a long, LONG time. Finally though someone that’s just as gross as he is shows up and wouldn’t you know it, he’s a slob and a champion belcher too, or at least he thought he was.
1. Revenge of the Nerds
This is why Revenge of the Nerds 2 wasn’t in the top slot. You wouldn’t even have the scene in part 2 if not for this classic moment with Booger at the helm. There might not be a lot of things that the Nerds can do to outclass the Alphas in a physical contest, but when it comes to being gross Ogre’s got nothing on Booger.
See? Belching can be fun.
