If it’s Halloween, it must be Saw. However, the franchise isn’t returning this Halloween season. Instead, new sequel Saw XI is set for Halloween 2025.

The eleventh installment in the series will hit theaters on September 26, 2025, with Saw X director Kevin Greutert returning to the director’s chair. Marcus Dunstan, known for The Collector and All My Friends Are Dead, is co-writing the script. In a recent conversation with Screen Rant, he revealed that the angry new film will have something new to say.

Dunstan commented, We’re writing XI right now, and Kevin Greutert is returning to direct. He further emphasized, That’s one where it’s got something new to say, and it’s angry.

Last year’s Saw X successfully brought both Jigsaw (Tobin Bell) and Amanda (Shawnee Smith) back by cleverly situating itself between the first two films in the series. This move proved to be a major hit for Lionsgate, amassing an impressive $111 million at the global box office.

No plot details are available yet for Saw XI, but speculation is rife about whether it will continue from where Saw X left off or explore a different part of the storyline. As Dunstan said in a past interview, There’s a version that picks up immediately where this one leaves off, but it’s way too early to tell.

Dunstan is already a veteran in the ‘Saw’ universe, having written multiple entries including Saw IV, Saw V, and Saw VI, while Greutert has directed both Saw VI, and Saw 3D, as well as most recently Saw X.
