What Mark Wahlberg Says When He’s Mistaken for Matt Damon

Mark Wahlberg doesn’t react in the way you would think when he gets mistaken for Matt Damon. Instead of a giving a blank look or even getting irritated about it he simply rolls with it and says ‘thank you’ to whoever manages to get him and Damon confused. Apparently Matt Damon gets confused for Wahlberg occasionally as well, though to be honest when looking at them side by side it doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense why this would happen. People must not be paying that much attention to the actors when they’re watching them or the the lot of us that aren’t confused about them are just big enough movie nerds that we see the differences immediately.

They’re both comparable in height though Damon is a couple inches taller, but their facial features are completely different. Their builds are even different depending on the movie you see them in, though Wahlberg usually seems to be a lot bulkier than Damon on average. Plus when they smile you can see a huge difference since Damon’s smile goes almost ear to ear whereas Wahlberg’s is able to go big but usually doesn’t expand all that much. In terms of their careers they’ve both done action movies and they’ve both done low-key, more artistic films, of a sort, that didn’t call for the hard-hitting scenes that they’ve become so well known for. Damon had the Bourne movies and Wahlberg had Shooter, and they’ve been mistaken in those movies as well on a regular basis as people will come up to them and congratulate them on the success of a movie that they didn’t even star in. How this happens is anyone’s guess but again, it’s usually a matter of people who don’t know the actors well enough by sight talking and making assumptions that aren’t right but aren’t so egregious that it’s really worth noting.

The fact that the guys laugh it off and just say thank you to the fans is pretty great since some actors might actually show frustration at such a thing. Of course some actors are a little more uptight and don’t appreciate being compared to others for their own reasons. Comparing Wahlberg to Damon isn’t the worst thing in the world since they’re both handsome, well-built men that have dazzling smiles and have proven their worth on screen. It’s simply confusing is all to those that know better when it comes to movies just how anyone could get these two guys mixed up with one another. But it sounds like it happens so often that both actors have learned to live with it and just accept it as much as possible. Chances are they only get a little up in arms if someone insists that they’re right and that each man was in fact in the films they cite upon meeting them. But from Mark’s perspective it wouldn’t seem likely at first.

Again, it’s a little hard to understand how these two are confused for each other but hey, not everyone’s a movie nerd.
