Kentucky State Police (KSP) are in an active search for Shannon Charles, who went missing on July 1 after her discharge from Ballard County Detention Center. The disappearance of the 26-year-old woman has sparked a concerted effort by both law enforcement and her family to locate her.
Charles was last seen wearing a white tee shirt, green pants, and orange Crocs style shoes, with braided hair. She was reportedly headed to Grayson, in Carter County, according to her family members. They noted that she is unfamiliar with the area and does not have a cell phone.
The family has been actively distributing flyers and using social media platforms in their quest to locate Shannon. KSP has also requested that anyone with information on Charles’ whereabouts contact them at 270-856-3721.

Kentucky State Police report approximately 1,500 to 2,000 missing persons per year statewide. About 800 are reported in southern Kentucky, with most of those from the Bowling Green area
