Diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) and smoldering multiple myeloma in December 2022, York was faced with treatments impacting his blood and bone marrow.

York’s road to recovery included intensive chemotherapy and a life-saving stem cell transplant. He described his philosophy during this time: one day at a time [and] let’s just get through today.
