Western Pennsylvanians have a gymnast to cheer for in the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics. Jade Carey, who has family in Vandergrift, has earned her spot on Team USA. This will mark Jade’s second Olympic appearance following her remarkable performance in Tokyo.
This year, Carey is in stellar company, joining renowned gymnasts Simone Biles, Suni Lee, Hezly Rivera, and Jordan Chiles. Each member brings their own unique form of excellence and experience. Carey aims to transition the team silver she helped secure at the 2020 Games into gold.
In a conversation with Carey’s family during her Tokyo stint, they expressed immense pride and excitement as she competed. The sense of community and support from Vandergrift was palpable.
