Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire has been renewed for a third season by AMC Networks ahead of the show’s Season 2 finale airing on June 30.
The contemporary adaptation of Rice’s gothic novel follows Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson), Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid) and Claudia’s (previously Bailey Bass, now Delainey Hayles) story of love and immortality, as told to journalist Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian).
Lestat’s New Adventures
In Season 3, the Vampire Lestat sets his story straight in a way only he can—by starting a band and going on tour. This unique twist promises fans a new interpretation of their beloved character.
Character Changes and Returning Cast
There have been some changes in the cast. Bailey Bass could not return for Season 2 due to unforeseen circumstances
, leading to Delainey Hayles taking over the role of Claudia. The new season also features the return of Sam Reid as Lestat, Jacob Anderson as Louis, Assad Zaman as Armand, and Eric Bogosian as Daniel Molloy.
Critical Success and Fan Reception
The freshman horror series, released by AMC+, has been a hit for the network. It has been praised for its updated take on Rice’s beloved novel and for making the book’s queer subtext explicit, particularly establishing Louis and Lestat as lovers.
A Wild Ride Ahead
The seven-episode season promises to be a wild and bloody ride with love bonds being tested, crazy stunts, betrayals, and emotional blow outs. Fans can expect Gabrielle, Nicholas, Magnus, Marius, and Those Who Must Be Kept to join Louis, Armand, Molloy, Sam, Raglan, Fareed, and other characters that still cannot be revealed.
