A24 has just dropped the first trailer for Heretic, a much-anticipated psychological horror film by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, the creative minds behind A Quiet Place. The film is set for a November 15 release date in theaters.
Starring Hugh Grant as Mr. Reed, a diabolical character who entraps two young missionaries, Heretic sees Grant playing starkly against type. Alongside him are rising stars Sophie Thatcher and Chloe East, both of whom play missionaries who end up entangled in Mr. Reed’s deadly game of cat-and-mouse.
The plot centers around these missionaries—Thatcher and East—who inadvertently knock on the wrong door, resulting in a harrowing test of their faith. As per the film’s logline, two young missionaries (Thatcher and East) are forced to prove their faith when they knock on the wrong door…

A24’s Strong Lineup Continues
A24 continues its streak of engaging releases with several upcoming titles. Following Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ drama Tuesday and Annie Baker’s Janet Planet, starring Julianne Nicholson, A24 will soon roll out MaXXXine on July 5—the concluding chapter of its horror trilogy led by Ti West. Also on this year’s schedule are Sing Sing, starring Colman Domingo, and John Crowley’s romance We Live in Time, featuring Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield.
