On Thursday, June 13, 2024, a new website and X account were launched to announce the production of the Gachiakuta anime by Studio BONES. According to the announcement, the anime is set to premiere in 2025. The official website has also shared a teaser visual and a promotional video for the anime. Additionally, a celebratory visual from Kei Urana has been unveiled.
The Gachiakuta anime adaptation has been anticipated for a while now. Finally, BONES and the staff have officially confirmed its development. The anime adapts Kei Urana’s dark fantasy manga series that has been serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine since February 2022, with 10 volumes published so far.
The Release in 2025
The Gachiakuta anime has been greenlit for production by Studio BONES, as confirmed by the anime’s official staff via a promotional video and visual on Thursday, June 13, 2024. According to the announcement, the dark fantasy anime will premiere in 2025 on television.
Stunning Visuals and Artwork
Alongside this information, the staff unveiled a kick-off visual and a teaser promotional video. The breathtaking illustration depicts the protagonist, Rudo, falling into an abyss. The logo for the anime is also visible in the picture.
Moreover, the visual includes a tagline in Japanese, which translates to: The world will change. All common sense will be overturned.
The promotional video serves as a blend of manga illustrations, anime cuts, and graffiti art by Ando Hideyoshi. Undoubtedly, it sets the tone for what’s to come in Gachiakuta, highlighting Rudo’s story—a boy from the slums.

Kei Urana, the author of the original manga series, has drawn an illustration to celebrate the adaptation announcement. The picture features Urana enjoying the anime on a television screen.
The official website also shared a comment from Urana-san: As a kid, I used to sit in front of the television and eagerly wait for my favorite anime. It’s truly a dream come true seeing my manga adapted by Studio BONES.

A panel dedicated to Gachiakuta will be presented at the upcoming Anime EXPO 2024 in Los Angeles. The staff from BONES alongside Avex producers and editors will discuss behind-the-scenes glimpses of this highly anticipated production.
