Arcane Season 2 Poster Teases Return of a Complex Character

The highly anticipated return of Arcane: League of Legends has fans buzzing with excitement, especially after Netflix released the first official poster for the show’s second season. The reveal is a small tease to hold fans over until the series makes its comeback later this year.

The first season of Arcane made its debut on Netflix back in November 2021. The wait has been arduous for fans, but now, as confirmed by Netflix, the series is set to return in November 2024, marking nearly three years between seasons. This new poster gives an intriguing glimpse into what lies ahead in the next chapter.

League of Legends fans are eagerly discussing potential plot developments and speculating about new characters. Some fans even have mixed feelings about rewatching Season 1 due to its emotional depth and significant moments.

Created by Christian Linke and Alex Yee, Arcane follows sisters Vi (Hailee Steinfeld, Hawkeye) and Jinx (Ella Purnell, Fallout) as they navigate the intense conflict between the affluent city of Piltover and the oppressed underworld of Zaun. The voice cast also includes Kevin Alejandro, Katie Leung, Jason Spisak, Toks Olagundoye, Harry Lloyd, JB Blanc, Reed Shannon, and Mick Wingert.

The first season enjoyed immense popularity at its premiere, topping Netflix’s Top 10 chart in 52 countries. Recognized as one of the finest video game adaptations to date, it won critical acclaim with a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes and became the first streaming show to nab the Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program.

The animation process is lengthy, contributing to the extended wait for a second season. Earlier this year, fans got a sneak peek with a first-look teaser trailer.

The anticipation for Arcane‘s return is underscored by comments from series star Ella Purnell. Reflecting on the wait for Season 2 during an interview with Tech Radar in April, Purnell mentioned that she recently returned to record some final ADR (automated dialog replacement) for the season finale. She revealed: I cried. So, I think other people will cry too. It’s devastating, and nobody will feel good after watching it.

In April, Netflix confirmed that this year’s Annecy Festival will include a ‘Making Of’ session highlighting the animated series, as it gears up for its much-awaited comeback this November.
