The news is out: Adam Levine is reclaiming his iconic red chair on The Voice for the first time since his exit in 2019.
NBC Confirms Season 27 Lineup
On June 4, NBC officially announced that Levine, who originally started as a coach during the show’s inception in 2011, will be part of the coach lineup for season 27. Joining him are established stars John Legend and Michael Bublé, along with newcomer Kelsea Ballerini.
Levine’s Illustrious Coaching History
Levine’s return marks a significant moment for fans and the show. He was one of the original coaches alongside Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera, and CeeLo Green. Levine took his first seat on April 26, 2011, and led three singers to victory over eight years.
Reflections on His Departure
In May 2019, Levine took to Instagram to reflect on his departure from the show. He shared insights into how Mark Burnett convinced him to join: About 8 years ago, [executive producer] Mark Burnett convinced us to sign up for this show where you sit in a big red chair with your back turned away from the singers on the stage.
A Heartfelt Experience
After the first day of shooting, I sat there, stunned. I said to myself ‘there’s some magic here. Something is definitely happening.’
Levine described his experience as life-shaping and cherished his time in that red chair.I couldn’t hide my love for you if I tried. Seriously. I tried. Can’t do it. Our friendship is and always will be one for the books.
Kelsea Ballerini Joins The Voice
Ballerini’s arrival on The Voice brings fresh energy to the coaching panel. She had previously acted as a battle advisor for Kelly Clarkson and even filled in as a coach during battle rounds.
Michael Bublé’s Return
Bublé is no stranger to The Voice. He returns for a second consecutive season, having previously served as a guest advisor to Team Blake in season three.
